Bohol Escapade: Baclayon Church

Next destination… Baclayon Chruch

The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Baclayon is considered to be one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. It is one of the best presevered Jesuit build churches in the region, although in the 19th century, the Augustinian Recollects added a modern facade and a number of stone buildings that now surround the church. – Bohol.ph

Inside  the church(2nd floor) was a museum.

Staff of the museum said it was forbidden to take pictures inside. Pero makulit ako! I still took pictures. I’ll only show you 2. They said its for the protection of the stuff inside the museum.

There’s an entrance fee of 50.00 per person. Plus you “need” to give a donation for the church. Any amount will do.

One of the many things you should not miss here at Baclayon church is the image of Father Pio, an Italian missionary who became a saint, in one of the pillars of church.
